Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Cylindrical-shaped lip-work basket used to measure corn, about 1870. The corn was given to threshers as payment on a farm at Aberaeron, west Wales.
This basket was made to measure corn. It would be used by farmers when distributing corn to flailers or cornbeaters as payment for their work on the farm. This example comes from Llanrhystud near Aberystwyth.
