Egg-cup stand with five cups, creamy earthenware, blued and crazed pearl-glaze, thrown and moulded, the egg-cups very thinly potted; the stand with spreading hollow foot and stem, the flat top with an up-turned rim and pierced for five egg-cups with spreading feet and a narrow moulded rib locating them in the stand; transfer-printed in underglaze blue, the stand with four vignettes of three houses on a hillock behind rocks, trees and two sailing boats, taken from the upper part of the 'Long Bridge' pattern, the rim and the egg-cups printed on both sides with a border of flower and leaf scrolls, diapers and Chinese scrolls and frets, generally found with the 'Long Bridge' pattern, and the foot with a band of hexagonal cell-diaper and fleur-de-lys; all the rims edged in ochre.
