Pot pourri case and cover, greyish, rather grainy soft-paste soapstone body, standing on a rectangular plinth base, oval foot, and oval baluster body, both ornamented with half-flutes, tapering above the shoulders to a leaf gadrooned rim, two foliate scrolling handles; the oval cover pierced with eight holes, and terminating in a lotus finial; richly painted in enamels with a broad band of naturalistic flowers at the shoulders and with a line of gilt beads to the plinth and cover, the flutes, rim and handles all outlined with gilding.
