Finger ring
Engagement ring in heart-shaped box. It was once worn by Gaynor Madgwick (nee Minett) of Aberfan when she and her boyfriend, David, got engaged on Christmas Day, 1974 aged 16.They bought the ring together in Samuel's, Merthyr Tydfil. They later broke up but the ring was kept by David and given to Gaynor by his sister on the day of his funeral in 2005. Gaynor was eight years old and in Pantglas Junior School on the day of the Aberfan disaster on 21 October 1966. She was pulled from the rubble by her grandfather but lost a brother and a sister.
