Chair in the style of Chippendale, the well-known eighteenth-century furniture maker. This chair is part of a set of dining chairs and dates to the late 1800s.
One of a set of 6 dining chairs, F85.53.3-8. Chippendale style with carved and pierced back splats, with cupid's bow cresting rails; seats upholstered in brown hide; square standard and cross stretchers. Matching carvers F85.53.1-2.
