Built 1944 as EMPIRE HALDANE by J L Thompson & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, for MoWT. 1947 – Sold to Goulandris Bros. Ltd., London, and renamed GRANFORD. In October 1952, she collided with the ss MONTE FACHO off the coast of Spain in thick fog. MONTE FACHO sank but GRANFORD picked up 37 survivors, and was able to proceed to Lisbon under her own power. 1957 – Sold to San Pedro Compagnia Armadora SA, Panama and renamed FULMAR. 1965 – Sold to Bianca Carriers Inc., Liberia, and renamed BIANCA VENTURE, managed by Wah Kwong & Co (Hong Kong) Ltd. She ran aground on 8th November 1965, 40 nautical miles north of Mukho, South Korea, and broke in two on the 11th becoming a total loss.
