Ainsley, Mrs Lucy
(Dressmaker)
Pale blue wedding dress (skirt and bodice). Made and worn by Mrs Lucy Ainsley (nee Hay) for her wedding at St John's Church in Cardiff, 1892. Bodice has a stand-up collar. Collar and front edges have an appliqué of roses and leaves in blue and grey silk. There is an inset matching stomacher gathered at the neck. The appliqué also extends around the waist. The skirt is plain, with the bottom hem bound with blue velvet.
