Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape, tapering foot-rim slanting inwards with an incised ring around it, deep curving sides and spreading rim, a raised edge to the well, waved rim; transfer-printed in blue with to the centre of the well the 'Neapolitan' pattern showing a seated female figure playing a lyre against a parkland landscape with an urn, a classical building, and swans on a lake, the scene enclosed within a wreath of feathery foliage, wide border to the rim and spreading down the sides of the well of alternating floral sprays and urns with flowers on a perforated lattice-work ground.
