North Sands type vessel built 1944 by Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel, Quebec (engine by Dominion Engineering Works Ltd., Montreal), for Park Steamship Co., Montreal, managed by Furness Withy & Co, Montreal. 1946 – Assigned to the UK Ministry of Transport, managed by Novocastria Shipping Co., 1950 – Management entrusted to W.H.Seager & Co., Cardiff. 1951 – Sold to Yamaska Steamship Co., London, and renamed YAMASKA, managed by Ships Finance & Management Co. 1954 – Managed by Lambert Bros., London. (Same name and same owner). 1959 – Sold to Dah Lien Shipping Co., Hong Kong, and renamed GUNN. Later that year acquired by the Chinese Peoples’ Republic, and renamed HO PING 30. 1967 - Same owner, renamed ZHAN DOU 30. Final fate unknown, but she was deleted from Lloyds registers in 1992.
