Cloth doll made by a poor child, Chichester, 1913
Part of the Edward Lovett collection of dolls
Rag doll of stuffed white cotton, tied at the neck, the short 'body' folded around a clothes peg shape. Faded pencilled features. Wearing home made plum hooded cape tied at neck with plum patterned tape, over long coarse black cloth skirt with bands of large X stitches in pink/yelllow/blue/green. Underskirt of grubby white cotton with faded pink pattern.
