Sampler
Small embroidered sampler (referred to as a 'mini protest banner') made at a workshop led by Sarah Corbett, founder of the Craftivist Collective. The workshop, held at St Fagans: National History Museum in June 2012, was organised to coincide with Refugee Week and the *Refugee House* exhibition. Printed cotton, with vertical stripes in shades of blue, pink and green. There are two metal eyelets (one in each top corner) to enable the 'banner' to be displayed in a public space. A piece of white block weave canvas has been applied onto the cotton. The canvas has been embroidered with the inscription 'MOST ASYLUM SEEKERS ARE LIVING IN POVERTY'. The Craftivist Collective label has been stitched diagonally over the canvas, bottom the right.
