ss EMPIRE CONDERTON (1558gt) : An arch-deck vessel built 1912 by Blyth Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. Ltd., Northumberland, as the THYRA MENIER for Donald Steamship Co., Bristol. 1918 - Sold to F.Lecoeuvre, Belgium - renamed LUIS PIDAL. 1923 - Sold to Puglisi & Tomasini, Italy - renamed BELLINI. 1928 - Sold to August Bolten, Germany - renamed BOLLAN. 1936 - Sold to Fisser & Van Doornum, Emden - renamed LINA FISSER. In May 1945 she was seized by the allies at Kiel, assigned to the British MOWT and renamed EMPIRE CONDERTON. 1947 - Sold to J .P.Moschakis Ltd, London - renamed MARCHMONT. 1952 - Sold to A.Moschakis Ltd, London - renamed IRENE M. 1955 - Sold to Tampa Shipping Ltd, Nova Scotia. 1957 - Sold to Marine Industries Ltd, Montreal, and scrapped in October 1957 at Sorel, Canada.
