Teapot in unglazed red stoneware with silver angled spout, handle and cover, cylindrical shape, the body tapering from rounded shoulders to the recessed base and surmounted by a short neck; body moulded and incised with a landscape design, the cover engraved with the crest of the Lewis family of St Pierre, Monmouthshire.
Creation/Production
Son of William Abdy I, free by patrimony, 4 April 1781. First mark entered 15 Sep 1790, shortly after his father's death. Second mark (two sizes) entered 16 October 1790. Moved to 11 Wilson Street, Finsbury, London 3 Feb 1821 (previously at father's premises at 5 Oat Lane?). Resigned from Livery and presumably retired, 1823.
