Am 9:13 y bore Gwener hwnnw, disgynnodd miloedd o dunelli o wastraff glo ar Ysgol Gynradd Pantglas a rhannau eraill o'r pentref gan ladd 116 o blant a 28 oedolyn.
Painting of a red rose by E. Johns with a handwritten card on the back 'Carl Minett Age 7'. The painting was donated by the artist to Cliff and Iris Minett of Aberfan in memory of Carl, their seven-year-old son who was killed in his classroom in Pantglas Junior School, Aberfan on 21 October 1966. Their ten-year-old daughter, Marylyn, was also killed.
At 9:13 that Friday morning thousands of tonnes of black coal waste from an unstable tip slid down the mountain. It instantly engulfed Pantglas Junior School and parts of the village killing a total of 116 children and 28 adults.
