Candelabrum
Candelabrum, Coade stone, cast in three sections with applied ornament fixed with copper wire, natural limestone colour, the octagonal foliate capital carved in relief with monkeys, the facetted shaft with pilasters terminating in lancet shaped gothic arches supported on heads of kings, bishops, etc, the base with entwined Welsh dragons and pigmy mediaeval craftsmen, the square panelled plinth with quatrefoils centred by blank shields, chamfered buttressed corners. Slight traces of gesso, brown clay bole and gold leaf in undercut areas.
