Tea caddy, cover missing, thickly potted white hard-paste porcelain; standing on a flat base, rectangular form, curved shoulders and shallow circular neck after standard oriental prototype; all four sides decorated with painted Watteau style figures in puce monochrome, one side with two figures seated on a bench, the male playing a lute, opposite side with two figures standing in a landscape, tree to right, one of sides with a male figure with a bag around his shoulders, opposite side with a female figure seated on the ground a statue and tree behind, two flower sprigs and two shadowed insects to shoulders, ornamental gilt border to shoulders, gilt border to foot rim and around neck.
