Welsh costume apron
Part of a Welsh costume worn by Gwen Jones, a member of Madame Muriel Davies' Welsh Ladies Choir, Pontypridd, 1930s.
Black and white checked apron gathered into wool twill waistband; one large tuck above hem. Wide double turnback along hem, narrow single turn backs along sides; all machine stitched. Replacement black tabby-woven cotton ties have been stitched on to both upper corners.
