Rag doll, Jamaican Molasses Seller, 1910

Part of the Edward Lovett collection of dolls

Black fabric with white stitched eyes and red stitched mouth. Head wrapped in white material headwear with cardboard box hat seated on top. Box contains white material and silver foil and is decorated with white triangles. Doll is dressed in long brown striped dress with red detail on chest and long white apron with white pocket with red floral decoration. Underskirt is red and white stripe with black pattern. No shoes.
