Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Awarded to George Calder for aiding survivors of the wreck of the 'Annie Park' at St Govan's Head in 1906.
The Annie Park, a Barrow-registered schooner en route from London to Lancaster was stranded and lost on St Govan’s Head, Pembrokeshire, in a south-easterly gale, force nine. Calder, a Commissioned Boatman, H.M. Coastguard, descended the cliff to reach the wreck, crawling along a sloping ledge of rock two feet wide. He reached two survivors and assisted in sending them to the top using lifelines and cliff ladder apparatus.
