Roman iron finger ring (Sol)
A complete green jasper setting with a single dark red-brown patch set in an oval iron bezel, much decayed. Depicts Sol standing in a quadriga drawn by four horses, all rearing up on their hind legs, and pulling the chariot to the right. Sol has his left hand raised in salutation, and carries a whip across his right shoulder. There is little or no trace of wear on the stone.
