Medieval ceramic floor tile
This tile bears the same design as Lewis Group 24, no.405. Slip-on impression. 4-tile design. Circular band with Black Letter inscription 'Sir John Talbo(t)' repeated four times, enclossing four talbots sejant. In each other corner a three-letter motif springing from the outer rim of the circle. BM Design 1464 (Canynges Pavement), Canynges design xxiv (Eames 191). Wyre Piddle Church; Grafton Manor.
