Starboard broadside view of M.V. ST TRILLO.

Built 1936 as ST. SILIO by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd., Govan (with 12-cylinder diesel engine by Crossley Bros. Ltd., Stockport), for Liverpool & North Wales Steamship Co.,working out of Llandudno. She had accomodation for 563 passengers. The two funnels were cosmetic, the forward funnel being a dummy. 1939 – Requisitioned by the Navy for “examination” duties. She was used as a troopship from February 1945. 1945 – Renamed ST. TRILLO in the November, ans returned to commercial service. 1962 – Sold to P & A Campbell Ltd., following the liquidation of Liverpool & NorthWales Steamship Co. Although based at Llandudno, she often made excursions to the Bristol Channel. She was laid up at Barry from October 1969 and put up for sale. Unable to attract any buyers, she was broken up at Dublin in 1975. (ref :– “Bristol Channel Pleasure Steamers” - Robert Wall)
