Plate, decorated with set pattern no.231, a Japan design, with gilt rim; inner border of pale blue cross-hatched with gilt. Touching the border are three geometric shapes, in underglaze blue, with key-pattern in gilt, and with protruding candle-shapes in pale blue with cross-hatching. Between geometric shapes, also touching border, are three asymmetrical patches with salmon pink ground, containing iron-red flowers and gilt arabesque foliage. Centre of the plate white, with iron-red flowers and green and gilt leaves.
