BARTOLOZZI, Francesco (Mezzotint engraver, one of the few to be a founder member of the RA (engravers were not able to become Academicians); he engraved the Guercino drawings at Windsor, and Holbein's portraits of the court of Henry VIII; also Cipriani and Kauffmann, popularising both these artists to the English eighteenth-century audience.)
