200th Anniversary of the Steam Locomotive (coin)

Royal Mint

2004 £2 Trevithick silver proof coin. Struck in .925 sterling silver with 22 carat gold plated outer ring. The obverse has a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadly. The reverse, engraved by Robert Lowe, feastures a depiction of the Penydarren locomotive encircled by a cog, which is a representation of the Industrial Revolution. In clear plastic capsule. With original box and certificate (2005.33/2-3).
