Cup, porcelain with greenish translucency, London shape, square straight-edged foot ring with a deep groove above, the sides curved out at the base then straight and more gradually widenint to the rim, curvaceous ogee handle standing above the rim; decorated in overglaze enamels with a version of Swansea pattern 197 [sic], a band of poppy seed boxes and flowers in orange-red, leaves in gold and tendrils in puce on a pale buff ground, gilt lines above and below and on the foot, gilding to the handle.
