Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Reverse. Similar in general design to the reverse of the Fifth Seal of Edward IV. The monarch’s horse gallops to sinister over three rabbit burrows. The king’s plate armour is enriched with the arms, quarterly, of FRANCE (Modern) and ENGLAND. The sleeves of the monarch’s surcoat are open. The shield touches the nape of the horse’s neck, its head bears three feathers only. The shield is rounded at the base and slightly hollowed. The horse trappings bear an escutcheon of St George. The field is diapered lozengy with roses, and fleurs-de-lis at the points of intersection. No ‘globe’. In the legend, cinquefoils form the stops.
