Figure of Mercury, soft-paste porcelain, standing on an elaborate four-footed scroll base with a moulded shell to the front, the figure modelled in the form of a young man attired only in a flowing cloak and with a winged cap upon his head, the arms raised forwards, the figure carrys a pouch-shaped wallet in one hand, on the feet are winged sandels, and around the feet are modelled moulded flowers and foliage, the figure leans against two bales with a small travelling trunk on top of them; the figure painted a realistic pale skin tone with a realistically painted face, the cap painted pink, the cloak painted yellow with a red and blue floral decoration and a blue lining, the sandals painted blue and pink, the moulded flowers and foliage painted in pink, yellow, blue and green, the bales and trunk painted in shades of brown, on the bales is painted the inscription "A. 86 / N. 271", the base painted with blue and pink dashes, the figure and base embellished with touches of gilt.
