Dilectology Questionnaire prepared in October 1952 by Vincent Phillips and Cardiff University and consisting of two parts. The first part concentrates on agricultural vocabulary and the second on vocabulary associated with housework. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.

Creation/Production
Vincent H Phillips was the Keeper of the Department of Oral Traditions and Dialect. He was appointed to the museum in 1957 and was responsible for collecting and recording Wales's oral traditions, dialects, folk songs, and other aspects of traditional culture.
His contribution to St Fagans was particularly significant because he helped establish the museum's programme of recording oral history and folk culture at a time when many traditional customs, songs, and dialect forms were disappearing. By 1960, he aimed to document all aspects of Welsh folk life through interviews, sound recordings, photographs, and printed material.
