Criccieth Castle
Perched on a rocky outcrop high above Tremadog Bay, Criccieth Castle is dominated by the twin-towered gatehouse built by Llywelyn ab Iorwerth ('the Great'). The castle was extended by Llywelyn ap Gruffudd ('the Last'), and later remodelled by Edward I and Edward II. Williams shows the castle within the tranquil setting of a summer day.
