Bough-pot
Billingsley, William (1758 - 1828)
Bough pot, hybrid-paste porcelain; half-circular/lunette shaped, on three bun feet, bow fronted with a flat back, and waved lip, slightly fluted around the base; seven hollow tubes protruding from inside the base; seven small holes in the cover and five larger openings with curved upright collars; painted with a rectangular panel of a basket of flowers including pink roses, blue convolvuli and a purple and yellow tylip; flanked by two panels with an elaborate gilt motif, with four c-scrolls in the centre and anthemions around the edge; salmon pink enamel painted inside the fluting, outlined in gilt; gilt bun feet, gilt lip.
