Tray, tin-plate, deep oblong form with rounded corners and outcurving sides, glued to the base a piece of slightly tattered woollen fabric; covered all over with a black japan, the interior sides painted with shells, flowers and leaves in shades of green and gold over a gold-tinged ground, green and gold bands around the well with further gold lines around the exterior sides and a red edge to the rim.
