Anvil
Blacksmiths do most of their work on the anvil. Most anvils have a pointed beak at one end, and a short, straight edge at the other. The beak is for bending and shaping metal, especially horseshoes. The blacksmith uses the long flat surface (the face) to shape the metal. Cutting metal is done on the softer surface of the table, next to the face.
