HOUSE FABRIC
Roofing slate used to record payments or debts. Horizontal and vertical lines have been carefully scratched into its surface, forming a table. Within the cells of the table are the engraved names of men, their house or farm name, and numbers. Some names are repeated several times suggesting this was a record of work and payment.
