Roman samian vessel
Samian vessel sherds a rim and 2 body sherds. S57 is a cup rim sherd (Dr27) of brittle dark red ware (slightly overfired), with a glossy dark red slip. The lip is only slightly marked. Southern Gaulish. S58 is a cup sherd from a small, concave sided vessel of beige-pink fabric and a rather matt dark red slip. Southern Gaulish and Flavian-Trajan. S59-61 are conjoining bowl sherds (Dr18) that have been re-attached. Central Gaulish orange/red ware with quite glossy orange/red slip. Trajanic?
