Cup and saucer
Cup, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, cylindrical sides curving inwards towards the base, loop handle with foliate moulding and raised thumb-spur; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the front of the exterior body of the cup a landscape with a standing male figure, a seated female figure and a child, around the exterior upper body an elaborate rococo border of scrolled motifs in gilt and a scale pattern in puce, from this border floral sprays and sprigs spread down the sides of the body, a gilt edge to the lip-rim, the handle picked out in puce and gilt. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, circular shape with short cylindrical foot-rim and curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a landscape with a male and a female figure seated besides a barrel, around the uppersides of the well an elaborate rococo border of scrolled motifs in gilt and a scale pattern in puce, from this border floral sprigs spread down the sies of the well, a gilt edge to the rim. The foot-rim chipped.
