3/4 port bow view of S.S. ADAMANTIOS J. PITHOS at Penarth Head, c.1936
(4537 gt) : Built 1908 by Napier & Miller, Old Kilpatrick, as the BARON MINTO for Hogarth Shipping Co. (H Hogarth & Sons), Ardrossan. In 1929 she was purchased by Pithis Bros, Chios and renamed ADAMANTIOS J PITHIS. On the 27 January 1940 she ran aground and broke up near St Ann´s Head, Milford Haven, while sailing from Rosario to Sharpness with a cargo of grain.
