Prosthetic limb
This prosthetic limb was developed and created by Team UnLimbited’s Drew Murray and Stephen Davies. The two give up their spare time to develop and build 3D printed plastic limbs for children (mainly) who have lost a hand or were born without one. Stephen, who builds the devices in his garden shed in Clydach near Swansea, is a CAD (computer-aided design) engineer. He was born without a hand, and it was his own search for a prosthetic that led him to Drew Murray, who is part of a volunteer network called e-Nable that makes free 3D prosthetics for children. Each arm is made to the recipients own specification – colours and even themes such as Iron Man, Batman and Lego. The arms costs around £20.00 to build and 12 hours to print on a 3D Printer. Their free design has now been downloaded many times and has helped thousands of people all over the world.
