Am 9:13 y bore Gwener hwnnw, disgynnodd miloedd o dunelli o wastraff glo ar Ysgol Gynradd Pantglas a rhannau eraill o'r pentref gan ladd 116 o blant a 28 oedolyn.
Painting of a white rose by E. Johns with a handwritten card on the back 'Maralyn Minett, Age 10'. The painting was donated to Cliff and Iris Minett of Aberfan in memory of Marylyn, their ten-year-old daughter who was killed in her classroom in Pantglas Junior School, Aberfan on 21 October 1966. Their seven-year-old son, Carl, was also killed.
At 9:13 that Friday morning thousands of tonnes of black coal waste from an unstable tip slid down the mountain. It instantly engulfed Pantglas Junior School and parts of the village killing a total of 116 children and 28 adults.
