Figure of William Tell, white earthenware with a blue tinted glaze, standing on an egg shaped base with a gilt line round. Well coloured figure dressed in black shoes tied with laces crossed to the knee, loose pink breeches gathered above knee, underglaze blue jacket tied at waist with a long green orange and white striped sash, grey/black spotted fur cloak over right shoulder, naturalistically painted face with whiskers, red/green feather in bonnet. Standing holding in left hand and supported aginst his left side, a large, shoulder height bow outlined in black, right arm bent across body and holding a red/pink apple over breast. Gilt detailing on coat, hat, bow and etc. Rough white ground.
