Dazzle painting on port side of tanker, First World War. Scale 1/16 = 1 foot. Stuck on card.
'Dazzle' camouflage was invented by the artist Norman Wilkinson, the idea being that patches of strong colour would distort the form of the vessel making it less likely to be spotted by enemy submarines.
