Teapot and cover, hard-paste porcelain, globular body with a small vertical neck, straight spout, loop handle, footring, domed cover with a flattened rim and a pointed finial that has curved sides; the rims of the teapot and cover are painted with a border of gold stylised scrolls, the top half of the finial is gilded, one side of the teapot is painted with a shepherd and his flock of sheep by the banks of a stream and the other side is painted with two lovers sitting by the banks of a lake, the cover is painted with a river and tree landscape.
