Relief. Concentric circles containing a frieze of four heraldic shields alternating with animals. The shields (clockwise from the top) consist of: 1. a bend. 2. two bars 3. a chevron between three annulets. 4a. a cross; the animals: a peacock; a swan; a two-headed beast (amphisbena); a liuon passant. In the centre an Agnus Dei; in the spandrels a fleur-de-lys with spreading side leaves. The heraldry may be conventional. Three of the shields, however, could have local associations though 3. is too late for relevance: 1. Waleys/Walsh, Lords of Llandough, Glam. 2. Martin, Lords of Cemais. 3. cf.John Gobogh, Haverfordwest (1439-40). 4. de Valle, Pembs. (Siddons 1991) See Ward Perkins 1937 BM Design 349
