North Sands type vessel built 1942 as GATINEAU PARK by Davie Shipbuilding & Repairs Co Ltd., Lauzon, Quebec (engine by Dominion Engineering Works, Montreal), for the Park Steamship Co., Montreal, managed by Canadian Pacific Steamships, Montreal. 1946 – Assigned to the UK Ministry of Transport, managed by Aviation & Shipping Co., London. 1950 – Sold to Cape Breton Freighters (Embiricos) London, and renamed ALKIS. 1955 – Sold to Alcibiades Cia Nav., Monrovia. 1965 – Sold to Acer Shipping Corp., Monrovia, and renamed ACER. 1969 – Sold to Cia de Nav. Corriente, Monrovia, and renamed MELIA. She was broken up at Onomichi in 1970. (mariners-list / Park ships)
