Roman copper alloy seal box
Roman copper alloy seal box with lid returned from an education loans box. Contaminated with old adhesive, chord and sealing wax.
Lozenge shaped lid with raised border forming a field with two central circular bands. Hinge complete with a locating dimple on the underside of the lid. The base has a corresponding locating recess. The base is of trapezoidal section, tapering towards the base. Two slots are present in the two medial corners. The base has three holes in a triangular arrangement (two above one if hung hrom the hinge) .
