Tea bowl and saucer

Weesp (fl.1759-1770)

Tea bowl and saucer, hard-paste porcelain, tea bowl standing on a foot rim, straight sides tapering inward at base; decorated in polychrome enamels, on one side with a figure in a landscape, wearing a yellow skirt, orange skirt, standing next to a barrel, trees and bushes behind, surrouonded by a double border quatrefoil cartouche in gilt, border of purple scaling with a gilt scroll outline to lip with three sprays of mixed flowers hanging down, gilt border to foot rim, and lip. Saucer standing on a foot rim, spreading body; decorated in polychrome enamels, in the centre with a figure in a landscape, seated on a barrel holding a glass, tree behind, house and hushes to right in distance, rocks in foreground, surrounded by a double, quatrefoil cartouche , border of purple scaling to lip with a gilt scroll outline and four hanging mixed sprays, gilt border to lip.
