Pardoe, Thomas (1770-1823)
Large cup and saucer of soft-paste porcelain with creamy-white translucency. The cup standing on a waisted turned foot rim, with slightly curving sides and a spreading rim; a large kidney-shaped handle. Painted on the outside with two flower sprays and a small blue butterfly, inside the bottom with a gilt flowerhead motif; the rim, foot and handle lined in gilt. The dish-shaped saucer stands on a tapering foot rim, with curved sides; painted with two flower sprays and one isolated sprig; the rim lined in gilt.
