Tureen with cover
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Tureen with cover, soft-paste porcelain, circular, etruscan shape that widens into a flattened collar toward the rim, attached on either side are two square handles with moulded shells on the top side of them, domed cover with conical finial, footring: the rim edge of the tureen and the cover; base; middle of the tureen and the collar edge of the tureen are decorated with gilt line borders, the collar is decorated with a border of plant sprigs in gold, both pieces are banded with pink roseheads on beds of gilt moss, the cover at the base of the finial is banded with a gilt line and gold leaf border.
