Plate, buff coloured earthenware, circular shape with inset base, curving sides and spreading rim; covered all over with a white tin-glaze, this then painted in blue with to the centre of the well a Chinese-style scene showing a figure pointing at an urn on a stand from which a spray of flowers issues, two insects hover around the figure, a blue band around the edge of the well, sprays of flowers and foliage issuing from urn-like motifs to the rim, a blue band to the outer rim, the glaze chipped around the edge of the rim, a crack spreads from the rim to the centre of the well.
