S.S. BARON MURRAY(2) (7031gt). Built 1942 as EMPIRE ARCHER by Caledon Shipuilding & Engineering Co., Dundee, (managed for MoWT by Raeburn & Verel Ltd). She sailed in a number of convoys in WW2 until becoming stranded on Rathlin Island, Co. Antrim, on 13th September 1944. She was refloated and beached off Bangor, then later, towed first to Belfast, then to Glasgow to undergo repairs. 1946 – Sold to H.Hogarth & Son, Glasgow, and renamed BARON MURRAY. 1959 – Sold to Cathay Shipping Corporation, Panama, and renamed CATHAY.She was broken up at Yokosuka in 1963.
